Tanzania migration safari highlights and we have got two interesting seasons and that is peak and high seasons.
Note: Peak Season: July to August
This is the dramatic season and here the wildebeests move the west to the northern Serengeti into Kenya’s Maasai Mara. This is so interesting as the herds attempt to cross the Mara River and Nile crocodiles snap their jaws as the herds cross through the waters, and lions are ready to pounce on the other side. Again, marabou storks and vultures occupy the skies, ready to feast on the unlucky few who don’t make it. The game viewing is sensational and unmatched. With so much action, it’s not surprising this is Tanzania’s peak season. Book with us now as it fills up fast.
Note: High Season: September to Mid – October
During this season the drama of the Mara River crossing relaxes, while the wildebeest and zebras moving to the Kenya’s Masai Mara. But that doesn’t mean your Tanzania migration safari experience is dull over these months. Some of the animals remain in the northern Serengeti on the lookout for fresh grass.
You will find the animals wandering over the plains, re-crossing the river, and running from predators while in search of food. By the first or second week of October, the herds will come back from Kenya and move from the northern Serengeti to central Serengeti hence making both sectors rewarding.

Tipping:
Tipping is of course discretionary but is an expected part of the way in which business is done in Tanzania. It counts as an expression of gratitude to those who – hopefully – have made your experience an unforgettable one and enables you to directly reward those people. Our passengers come from all around the world, with different cultural attitudes to tipping, but a tip is of great significance here in Tanzania and will be hugely appreciated by the recipient. We know that the act of giving of a tip can be a bit awkward and we would suggest that the best way to remove this ‘awkwardness’ is for each couple to put their tip anonymously into an envelope and for the envelopes to be presented by the couple to the staff member. As a guideline, you should consider tipping at the following levels:
Driver guide: $20 US per day, per couple.
For hotels/lodges/tented camps, please do not tip individual staff members, but instead use the ‘Tip Box’, which you should find at the reception of your accommodation. For guidance, you should consider tipping between $5-7 US per day, per guest, at each accommodation.
Balloon Safari: Experience 60 – 90-minute (depending on wind condition) aerial adventure, followed by bush breakfast and champagne.
